Received a safety recall notice for the TIPM yesterday. The recall states that certain 2011 through 2013 model year Grand Cherokee and Durango vehicles are impacted. It goes on to say that problem will be repaired free of charge. However the part needed to make the repair, is not currently available. A second follow-up notice will be issued when the part becomes available. In the meantime the fuel pump relay could fail. This relay can cause anything from intermittent start failure to an engine stall while driving. The latter could cause a crash without warning. Not a very comforting situation while one waits for the fix.

 

This recall has been out for a while. Designated R09 this time.


They have just expanded it, which I could see coming. Like that ONE year was any different TIPM that the rest...lol

I don't know about you, but I don't even like the WITH warning crashes either...lol

 

I received this a few days ago as well.

 

Got my recall notice some time ago and had the dealer complete the recall at my last oil change. Never had an issue with the vehicle prior to and since the recall correction. Most recalls I have experienced in my vehicles are like that.
