Actually, there are iTunes apps for reading codes. I wasn't paying close attention when my service guy cleared the code. He was looking at his iPad mini and it showed the code was stored. I never thought to ask how he got the info on his iPad. So I did a search and found this. I'm not sure I want to pony up $10 just yet.

I just read further and you need a compatible scan tool to use the app. Starting to get expensive....

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have a Wi-Fi ELM327 compatible scan tool, Automatic car adapter (2nd generation), or LELink Bluetooth LE adapter to use this software. OBD Fusion is not compatible with generic ELM Bluetooth scan tools and 1st generation Automatic car adapters.
