Just picked up my 2015 RT
#14
I traded a 2012/Citadel/48K. I did pretty well on the trade, the dealer gave me better than excellent trade value according to kbb figures, but then came off the new one quite a bit too. However, the figure that matters the most is the difference between your trade and the price of theirs, if it's too low, simply ask more for your trade or to discount the new one further, regardless of how they meet that figure just know what you're willing to pay in the difference between the two. I also had some added incentives with rebates and Friends and Family discounts. Every situation is different, it helped that I knew the salesperson and the new car manager well and have bought many cars from them for 20+ years. I trade about every three years and I keep my cars in exceptional condition. They know my vehicles are extremely well maintained and know they can resale them quickly, so it works out well on both sides.
