Default AWD LOW indicator

Can anyone temp me why my AWD LOW indicator light comes on when I start up? The EVIC tells me how to shift into low but I've not rotated the dial.

U should mention it comes on at startup and randomly while driving...

Signs of problems to come?

Thanks!

I would shift it into low range and then back out. Mine has done that a few times, I think maybe you hit the dial by mistake. At any rate I don't see it as a big deal. In fact I shift mine once in a while if I haven't used it, just to keep the parts moving.

This would happen to me a few times a week, then it wouldn't allow me to shift out of low. I took it to the dealership and they had to hook it up to the computer and do an update. Its been over 5 months and it hasn't happen again.(fingers crossed)

I've had this issue with mine as well. I've taken it in 3 times now, apparently the issue never happens when at the dealer and there are no recorded error codes to speak of. Consequently, as far as the dealer goes, the only issue is me not knowing how to operate my vehicle, lol.... The software has been updated twice as well, but problem still persists.

Problem solved...

As unbelievable as it is, it's solved.

A few weeks back I was preparing for a long drive for work. I loaded up a 32GB flash drive to finally copy some tunes to my HDD. I loaded it with about 20GB of music. I ran into a bunch of trouble copying and eventually just left to stick on the usb port. This was the same time the issue cropped up.

It was the stick that did it.

The LOW indicator comes up and I get directions to shift every time it's in. Whaaaat???

Since, I've formatted the drive. Copied a reasonable amount of data and started over.

Issue hasnt occurred since.

Thanks for all the replies!

Same problem here with 2019 Durango RT. Resolved by unplugging Apple cell phone from left USB port in center console. This finally allowed us to manually shift out of it with center **** while in Neutral. Plugging back phone in the right USB port did not duplicate the error.
