Default Squealing during braking?

I purchased a 2015 used Durango R/T. Everything was fine up until recently. My brakes squeal while slowing down for a stop. I realize it could be the brake pads worn down, though I have to go through a vehicle inspection and this would have been noted during inspection. I was wondering if the 3G Durangos had any issues with brakes/rotors - like warping? I'll review TSBs, but has anyone else had excessive squealing?

Thanks

Never trust a vehicle inspection by the seller. Pull a wheel off and inspect the brakes yourself.

So the vehicle was supposedly inspected by Dealer during CPO, though since I live in PA I have to get State inspection. They would have lived to replace brakes or rotors if they needed them. I'm just checking to see if anyone else has issues. I will send vehicle into Dealer for tire rotation and alignment check. See if they know anything.

Hi ohrag,

I found a TSB that might help fix the concerns you are experiencing:

“NUMBER: 05-002-15
GROUP: Brakes
DATE: April 24, 2015

SUBJECT: Front Brake Squeak/Squeal Noise

OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves replacing the front brake caliper guide pin bushings.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may describe a front brake squeak/squeal noise at cold temperatures or with cold brakes after sitting. Noise is most prevalent during a low-speed stop with light brake pedal effort.”

Your local dealership will be able to identify if this TSB applies to your vehicle and further assist you. Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Awesome - this describes my condition perfectly. Seems to be coming from the front wheels and during slow braking as I approach a stop sign. Will discuss with Dealer.

Thanks again.

Oharag, to answer your question about brakes from a Durango owner, I have a 2011 Crew with 96,000 miles on the original brakes with no issues to date. And this is with occasionally towing a sizeable boat. I do have many highway miles on it, but brakes are not an issue with my vehicle.
