9 months, 6000 miles, still shifting great here. Every once in a while I get a flashback, thinking it's going to shift hard again, but it's still nice and smooth.

Definitely gotten worse. I was driving to get food with a neighbor yesterday and he noticed the 5 > 4 when we got off the freeway and was like “what was that?” Gave him the full rundown.

Well that's no fun at all. Maybe try a different dealer/service department? The new transmission is still under warranty so they should honor it.
Have you tried calling Chrysler support directly or with the service manager? My understanding is that the STAR case is supposed to have the details of the issue. Chrysler care: 800-247-9753
It doesn't look like DodgeCares has been online recently, so probably no help there.

Sorry, running out of ideas.

Yeah my moron local dealer managed to get ours fixed. I’m guessing your dealer just isn’t programming it right. I don’t think it was ever a transmission problem just programming

@DodgeCares I'm having the same hard downshifting issue with my 2016 Dodge Durango Citadel AWD V6. My particular Durango has a CPO powertrain warranty for 7 years/100,000 miles. How do I open a case to have this issue addressed? I'm having trouble getting my local dealership to actually answer the phone to schedule service.

Just thought I'd check back in - the problem has persisted and I don't really want to go through another new transmission swap or the hassle of constant trips back to the dealership. Decided to sell unless Dodge will buy it back from me though I don't know how that whole process would even work or if it's an option.

'98 Dakota > '10 Ram 1500 > '16 Durango RT. It was a good run.

160k+ miles on the Dakota, ~90k on the Ram, ~53k on the Durango.

That's a real shame, but considering how long you've been dealing with the problem in one way or another I can't blame you. Hope you're able to find something you like even more!
