Cool Anyone having issue with 2011 Durango paint job?

So we've had this car since June 2011 and we bought it brand new. 2 weeks ago I've noticed that the paint in the roof was peeling and I've taken it to 3 auto body shops and they all said it doesn't seem right. It definitely looks like a factory defect. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has this issue or am I just the lucky one.

What color is your 2011 Durango? What state do you live in? Any record of prior hail damage to the vehicle that may have caused a respray of the roof?

I have a Red Sangria 2011 Durango that's spent it's life in the midwest and the paint on the roof still looks great.

I live in Montana. We bought the car in WA and kept it in the garage at home. No record of hail damage.

Can you take a photo of your paint issue?
I'm sure there are a few of us who would be interested in seeing your paint problem.
Thanks.

Have you had a windshield done in the last year or so? It almost looks like water has been collecting behind the trim on the top side.

Get it taken care of before it gets really bad.

No I haven't.

We are bringing it in to get it done next week. That's the soonest anyone can get us in.

Reseal the windshield while you're at it. They should do the body prep work with it removed. No cheap glass companies either.

Thanks. We're just baffled about the paint peeling.

Wow, that is a serious paint issue. My guess on the main cause, is RUST.

Like TNtech said, who ever is doing the re-work should pull the glass and fix, prep (remove all the rust) from the surface before the new paint is applied.

Be sure to verify the prep work, before allowing the shop to apply new paint.

Keep us posted on your effort.
