My Durango continues to impress
My 2011 DD Crew with V-6 and tow package continues to impress and be the utility vehicle I hoped for when I bought new 6 years ago. It currently has almost 104,000 miles in the odometer. I effectively tow a sizeable boat with ease to northern Wisconin once or twice per year (350 mile round trip), drive it to Florida each winter with bikes in hitch carrier, take multiple road trips to visit kids, grandkids, etc. I have the original brakes (have recently checked and still ok for awhile), current tires have 65,000 miles and even tread wear, original battery, everything works on the vehicle as it did when new, and still rides nicely on our road trips when packed to the hilt with our stuff.
Here are the issues I have had: replaced both front wheel bearing hubs and rear main engine bearing seal after the 90,000 mile mark. The seal was covered under a loyalty warranty agreement by Dodge/dealer where I paid 25% of the bill. I'm soon to replace the tires with same ones I have on the vehicle, and will do a brake job this summer as a matter of keeping vehicle safe for our frequent road trips and towing.
I plan to keep vehicle for a couple more years and would buy another Durango again because it is such a capable vehicle. Next time, I would buy the Citadel with more of the safety features and upgrades. I could go on, but just highlighting the highs (many) and lows (few) of my experience in owning a 3rd generation Durango.
