Default 2012 Dodge Durango extended Cranking times

I have a 2012 Durango with a 3.6. Yesterday it died and as you attempted to start, the engine would only crank but not start.

I cycled the key 3-4 times and the engine starts just fine. It seems as if it could be a fuel delivery problem. Does this seem like to the case to anyone else?

Does anyone know where the schrader valve is located and what the fuel pressure should be?

I'm no tech, but it could be related to a well-known fuel pump relay issue these vehicles have. Have you had the fuel pump relay recall done?

The jerk engineers and bean counters didn't think a valve was needed any longer, BUT they still tell you to somehow test fuel pressure. On a 3.6 you'll have to tap into the rail connection BUT it's under the edge of the plenum on everything except the Minivan. Check for the recall.

That's my thought too. Even if you've had the recall done, just replace the relay they added. Mine just wore out a few weeks ago.

Hi cmcpeek1,

You can enter your VIN here to check for any open recalls on your vehicle: https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehic...ls/search.html. If you end up deciding to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed, just send us a PM and let me know!
