Newbie with problem on Daughters rt
Hi!
I'm a newbie to this forum and need to get help for my daughter who just called me from work with a problem. I've tried to search for solutions for about 20 minutes and haven't been able to get any answers.
She has a 2015-16? Durango RT with all the bells and whistles. She called me and wanted to know what to do about smoke coming from the front center console panel where she plugs her phone into via the usb port. She says it is a stinky electrical smoke. She has unplugged and shut off truck and is at work. She could see and smell the smoke.
Thanks for the help

The wires are burned probably by sticking too many devices into one plug. Wonder though why the fuse didn't burn.
I'd head straight to the dealer with that problem as that should be covered under warranty (2 year old SUV).
I would not use any radio equipment while driving to the dealer.
Digging into the radio console might void her warranty and no one wants to pay couple grand out of their own pocket.

We would recommend having your daughter visit a dealership as soon as possible for further diagnosis. If she would like further assistance she can reach out to our Dodge Customer Care team at (800) 423-6343.
