My recall relay fix failed too. The dealership notes say, "corroded solder." My inspection says hasty installation without checking connections. Whatever makes them feel good. It's not cool when you are doing 65 and the engine shuts down.

I've not heard it blamed on a corroded solder before, but the recall fixes do fail and in most cases a new relay ($14) plugs in and takes care if it. But yeah I agree with your concerns.

I have also had mine replaced since the recall was completed. Just so you guys know, if the recall campaign is still open for a recall (this one is) the parts and labor are 100% free as all recall parts are under warranty until the campaign is closed.
