The dealership tested durango 5.7 engine the codenwas for a misfire on cyl one thay told me that there is a lifter collapsing and that is causing


the valve not to open.this seems to happen when you have to punch the accelerator pedel the engine has 16000 miles and dealership says that the cam and lifters need replaced and that would cost $3000.00 dont wznt to spend that kind of money with that many miles

 

You have a couple of choices: Pay $3000 to fix it, buy a used engine or, sell it.

 

What year? 16000 miles? No warranty left?

 

this is what i was thinking too, at 16000 miles this should be a warranty issue.


unless he meant 160,000 miles.
