Default 2 batteries in newer Durangos ?

Is there 2 batteries that you have to deal with 18 and 19 model years with the stupid ESS function or just the one still ?

service information does show an auxillary battery located next to the main battery (under the passenger seat) for a 2019 durango.

I do know fca is using single and dual battery ess systems. we are told to check the build sheet to verify which system you have...single systems have a different build code than dual battery systems. I'll get the codes tomorrow if you must know.

The auxilliary battery is likely only used for the "special service" Durangos that have a lot of extra electronic equipment needed for police/fire/rescue use.

for stop/start sysems; its used for supporting electrical loads when the stop/start has the engine off.

Interesting, I'll add that info to my memory bank. Thank you for the correction.
