Default Crev6 Crew RWD intermittent click sound in Park, then stuck in 3rd or maybe 2nd

2013 Crew RWD. Sometimes when I start it, it will make a clicking sound in park. When it's doing this and I put it into drive the click goes away, but it has very poor acceleration and won't shift out of whatever gear it's stuck in, I assume it's 2nd or 3rd. Also when I was next to a wall in this state I heard and pinwheel sound from the transmission when starting off from a stop. I can turn it off and turn it back on and it will shift normally and it works until I turn it off. In other words it's either doing the problem from the start up or it's not, it doesn't slip from working fine to broke while I'm driving, for now.

I think it's has to be some kind of sensor, or I'm hoping it's cheap, so I can Keep it moving.

Hi KeepItMovin,
We certainly understand why this may be concerning. We kindly recommend having your dealer inspect this concern for you as they are in the best position to assist. If you do work with your dealer, we would be more than happy to provide you with additional support.

Just don’t get to technical with Dodge Cares, they will remind you they are not mechanically trained and advise you to follow up with your dealer and wish you good luck. 🙄
