Default Water sloshing sound behind dashboard?

Hello,

I'm hearing water sloshing when driving and can't seem to locate the issue / how to drain it. I watched a video where the person popped two plugs on the passenger side and water drained out. I did the same and nothing came out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A sloshing noise can be a couple of things. Is it a gurgling sound or sloshing back and forth? A gurgling could be air in the heater core from a low cooling system level. If it sounds like it's sloshig back and forth, you may have a plugged drain in the a/c system.

With the engine cool, open the radiator cap and see if the radiator is full. If it's low, top it off with coolant, not just water. If the sloshing lessens, you have an air bubb;e and may need to top it off a couple of time.

If it's full, there will be a little drain o the firewall where the water drips out. If this is stopped up, the water will accumulate. You can reach up there and play with it with your finger and see if any dirt comes out. Be aware you may get a face full of water. Do NOT poke a screwdriver in there. You can poke a hole in your heater core and a/c evaporator core. Both are a real pain to replace.

Ol' grouch, I appreciate your response. It sounds like water is sloshing back and forth. It seems to be the loudest when I start the car and driving it for the first few minutes. I checked the radiator fluid and it does appear to be low. I'll try topping it off an see if that helps.

Rob, thanks, I'll try topping off the radiator fluid and see if that (hopefully) resolves the issue. Either way, I'll report back shortly.

I've had to "burp" cooling systems before. Annoying but once you get done, you may no longer have the noise and the heat will cook you.
