So, my loyal and hardworking 2016 Durango already has been at the dealership "getting approval" for a month, and now allegedly is waiting for parts so backordered that there is no ETA. She needs a new engine due to metal shavings getting into the engine innards. $$$ for the rental car, and counting. Dealership says no loaners available (for the past month, and for the forseeable future. Thanks, guys.)

But another local dealer said that for them, this would have been a three-day turnaround.

I don't know who is telling the truth and who is totally playing me, at this point.

In any case, would anyone care to comment on whether the following parts really are backordered with no eta?

Engine Block PT# - R8259164AA
Manifold - PT# - 68189105AB
Gasket kit for long block - PT# - 68294132AB
Water pump - PT# 68346915AA

 

Get the two dealers together, and have them work something out.

Doesn't warranty cover a rental car?? GM did for a while. No idea if they still do.
