Unhappy Re-Programming Key Fob?

Hi all; newbie here with a key fob issue. 2016 Citadel.
The fob got progressively weaker and then stopped working altogether.
I replaced the battery with a fresh 2032, but no joy. Still does not work.
The second fob still works just fine.

Can it be re-programmed to the vehicle by the user, or do I have to take it to the stealership?

Thanks, rstew

OK got her resolved.
Apparently the first 2032 I tried was weak even though it showed 3V on the tester.
So I tried another one from a known fresh pack and all is well; works like a charm.
Thanks for the help!

Yes RStew, w/most situations the FOBs gets back its like-new functions after the dealer re-flashes it. Then all that regaining nu life depends on how well it's been treated in ones pockets, and gosh-knows else where, even thought the micro-circuits are anti-moisture coated, dust, fungus does creep-in, corrosion sets to eating. My '14 Odo clock just pasted 191 and I just purchased two FOBs and planning a four hour dealer sit to have the two FOBs flashed, approxed 125$ a pop. : (

you can't do it yourself but you can have a lock smith that does key fobs do it for about 60 or 70 dollars instead of a dealership
