45k miles gt gave me service shifter light. the led on the shifter went out. next day car threw out engine code U1267. took it to dealer said power terrain wont cover. i still asked them to find out what's goin on. has anyone had any similar issues??

 

The U1267 code is for the (ESM) electronic shift module. I have replace a lot of these module. Did the dealership run a VIP report to see if the module was covered?

 

Fixed it.Took it to a dealer they told me shifter was faulty asked for 1800 to fix. I though it was too much. I took it to a local shop and he found the problem . He said under the passenger seat these things have terrible harness out of factory. He should me the harness and showed me the loose wire going into the harness. He pushed that specific wire in and problem dissapeared. He said if it comes back just bring it in and he will fix the harness for 60 bucks... problem has yet to appear all led lights on shifter came back. Car acting like nothing has ever happened. Soo if your car gives you random service shifter from time to time it's most likely loose wire under the passenger seat in the front.
