Question Uconnect/HDD issues

2012 R/T 180,000km 5.7L Hemi
Hey all,
We recently purchased a used 2012 R/T.
there seems to be some issues with the media center/ uconnect. RHR model
I have been doing my own research acros the forums but seem to be coming up short finding the same issues we are having.
I have no Nav Database. Apparently we need to purchase a database from Navteq.com. So the media center is in a constant state of " Navigation initializing" or whatever.
the wifes phone connects through BT, but her contacts are never uploaded, there is a constant icon showing that the contacts are still being transferred. We drove it 4 hrs straight to bring it home and the contacts were still not finished. and her phone will not connect to stream music from her phone via the media center. Im guessing her phone is too new and the older uconnect system has no clue what to do with it.
I went to uconnect website and punched in the VIN, theres no updates available, says it been fully updated.

Is there a factory reset I can do? Can I erase the HDD and startover? any links to free software updates and nav info/maps for free?
I know its an older version of uconnect, and software updates are no longer available for this version, but is there any way to upgrade to the new version?

I'll keep looking around the net and on here, I just know there ae some very knowledgable people on here.

Thanks.

There is a company that sells replacement hard drives for the Uconnect radios. I have a 2012 Crew with the 730N RHR radio. I updated the OS and Gracenote yesterday and works better but my hard drive is still working. It looks like the hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced. They will sell you a hard drive with the latest software. Not sure about Gracenote or maps but I guess that's dependent of the radio type. Here is the link and hope it helps.

Thanks so much for the replies.
I went ti the Mygig website and looked at all the test pages to help determine whats wrong. Its definitely the hard drive. Apparently the sub freezing temps up here in Canada destroy the OEM drives. They actuallybsell an upgraded drive to handle the harsher climate! Only an extra $30. So I'll be picking that up right away.

Thanks again! Really appreciate the replies!
