Default 2018 Dodge Durango radio screen is delaminating

Is this a known issue with the 2018 Dodge Durango? The buttons have a mind of their own which is disabling Apple CarPlay so their is no working navigation system. If so does Dodge cover the cost of the replacement part and installation? We do not have an extended warranty.

You will need to take it up with the dealer.

Google "durango radio screen delaminating" and there are others with the same issue in the forum, and also YouTube videos on how to fix. Also, search for possible Field Service Bulletins (FSB's) about the issue.

Exclamation Why was this never a recall?

My 2018 Durango UConnect is also badly delaminated. When I called to schedule a service appointment my dealer gave me the number to call Dodge customer service for the known issue. They actually have a devoted department specifically for delamination. After a 5-minute wait they came back to tell me there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. This is a KNOWN issue with the 2018 model, and other Dodge vehicles, yet it was never recalled. I will have to pay to have it replaced, as it's so bad I can't even use it anymore. I'll have it fixed, but after buying 4 Dodge vehicles from the dealership in the past 10 years we will NEVER buy another Dodge! Do better Dodge!

Screen delaminating is not a safety issue, thus, no recall.
