Default Cai

I have a K&N 77 series breathing apparatus on my Hemi. I put a K&N on my first car, (1978 AMC pacer, 15yrs old LOL) and I'll have one in my last.

of both rams i had the 4.7 with the afe stage 2 origionally an k&N which was horrible but that stage 2 afe was unreal huge gains 2.5 mpg and now on my 5.7 i have an afe stage 2 also which give me a 2-2.5 mpg gain also and really made my exhaust sounds so much deeper and u cant beat there pro5r filter.

By my friends running c.a.i's of different type if i was gonna buy a different brand it would be vollant for thier filters

yea teh sh%$$y thing is that once i bought my afe stage 2 cai i also bought a helix power tower tbs thinking that the air resonator would fit .Wrong with the tbs on the resonator hits the oil fill cap/tube the only way around it was to fork out 150-(220 canadian at the time) for afes tbs and there own replacement tube that connect to the stage 2 funny how that worked eh lol.its just on the 5.7's on the 4.7's stage 2 it goes directally to the throttle body

I have put K&N filters on almost every vehicle I have owned. It is the first mod I do to them...
The only one I have not done it to is my 92 Acura Vigor (my commuter box) as they don't make them I will have to modify a Honda set up to work I guess...

I'll second the Volant CAI. Good quality. Lil pricey, but worth it.

The CAI from K&N is ok, but your not getting a true CAI from K&N. Their filter sits in the engine compartment. Not a whole lot of cold air coming in that way.

AEM brute force. love it. very solid construction. easy hour install. looks great. a little louder and a lot deeper at idle/cruise and really roars at full goose.
maybe once my gas petal stops sticking to the floor ill see if i get better mpg.
was gonna go homebrew but autoanything made me a heck of a deal.

Hi folk's, i'm looking foreward to buy a CAI. I'm counscious of the cold air effect by the positionning under the hood. Do the heat shield a MUST. If not, then a cheap one could do the work as long as the MAS is on. Also, i was looking for tuning. Superchip flash paq is my choice. Whitch should i begam with?
I use my 2008 ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 for hunting, every day driving and travel trailer hauling.
