Just replaced the Flowmaster 50 series with a 70 series. It is definitely quieter and not as harshly obnoxious on the outside. It doesn't (literally) shake the house on startup the way the 50 series did. Much nicer in-cab, too. I will probably keep this on for a year or so, and then look for a more permanent exhaust system option. Just got this because it was relatively cheap and I needed something 1 decibel quieter than what was on there in order to pass inspection!

A 50 should pass inspection unless it's got a hole issue, Mine is relativly quiet, until I womp on it. Even then it seems tame compared to others.

They put the decibel meter by the tailpipe and measure it at 3000 RPM. NOT quiet.

From the time I had it first installed, it has been loud. The initial startup combustion LITERALLY shakes the house. Well, shook, since it's gone now. In Arkansas it was fine and fit right in. Over here, not so much...

I like the note of the 50 more so than the others. It's more throaty and mellow, whereas even the 70 series has more of a rattle to it.

Similar for me, but without the inspection issue.

Originally from Louisiana where my V6 Ram with the Flowmaster 50 is tame compared to some trucks (still quite loud), but now living in Washington I keep setting off car alarms at my apartment complex...without even having my foot on the gas, rather just idling by!!
Hardly any trucks with loud exhausts up here either, but I like the sound too much to do anything about it. :P

Ha ha ^^car alarms going off, guess you guys are not getting a cut-out anytime soon. I get that wallup at start up as well. Thats just a dodge motor waking up! My neighbors haven't complained yet.

Oh, I LOVE the startup. The in-cab drone with the 50 series was terrible, but it sounded like a truck. Loved it from the outside, hated it from the inside. I actually worried about my kids' ears in that thing. I was going to do some soundproofing. I may, still, but I think I just want an entirely different system on it. We'll see what happens. Need to get it all legal-like, first, then I'll worry about changing stuff.

Haven't had anyone complain YET, but I've only had it over here about a month. It is by far the most impractical vehicle in the village, but I don't care. My buddy here a few streets over has a '53 Oldsmobile, so it seems we compete for dirty looks! I definitely get a wider berth on these small streets than I did driving the Jeep, that's for sure!

Are you running a single out or dual out on your 3.7? What size piping is on the 3.7 if you happen to know? Thanks

What would be the best exhaust to put on my truck for performance.I will be running long headers and no cats.So single go to double out or true duals with H or X pipe.

The idea is to run which ever exhaust with all available bolt on mods and maybe a cam and head job.

cut the muffler off and put a turndown right below the cab at the beginning of this last summer and loved every minute of it! Had to put muffler on so I could drive to VA. Tickets down there are ridiculous! I'm now running a no name knock off muffler from a local shop. It is a SI/DO with both outlets (cost all of 50 bucks, lol) currently dumping below the bed. I like it a lot but I am getting a little tired of the drone and things rattling in the truck. I'll probably get tailpipes out the back for it soon.

Also. When I start it up in the morning and go back inside for coffee (its like 18 degrees in MI right now!) I can fell the rumble from the truck while sitting at the dining room table. Basically, the muffler made me legal by equipment standards. I doubt I would pass any decibel checks
