Yeah, thats why dragsters have open headers......they need too cut back on the torque...........sound stupid?? So is your theory, Back pressure does one thing, creates BACK PRESSURE! It doesn't make a engine ''run'' better, It cannot ''create torque'' Any where back presssure is needed is in a turbo set up, but that ''pressure''is created by the turbine in the turbo system leading to the intercooler......not the extended exhaust system after it.
torque is created by horsepower, turning the p.o.s transmisssions that 95% of us are sporting... Don't believe me? thats cool, I got most of this from the op, cuz I once was thinking just like you in this regard.

Theory is stupid huh well let's do this again dragsters run open headers because they are designed to($10,000+ in motor alone)now do an experiment for me take your entire exhaust off and run straight headers and get back to us in 6 months and tell us the motor problems you run into and also search on here and you will see multiple threads of guys who lost towing power running straight headers or customizing exhaust for less back pressure now yes you will gain throttle response and acceleration and I believe that's what dragsters want but maybe my "theory" is off and you can correct me again also I don't believe they tow anything while racing so once again correct me if I am wrong, and hey maybe we are both right because not sure if kid is want to tow or race but being a truck owner I'm guessing tow

Failed to mention I have worked on IMCA Modified and Late Model cars off and and on since i can remember because both my uncle and grandpa raced and now currently working on a mini sprint with a buddy of mine and the mini sprints run a small muffler because the motor once again are not designed to run with just straight headers as a dragster is

Don't believe anything I'm saying please go test it on your truck and let us know how things go

All comes down to supporting mods to compliment the exhaust. My truck hole shots harder with 3" single Y or current 3" duals X than stock piping period but again it comes down to supporting mods.

Default Flowmaster Super 44

Installed super 44 today; sounds amazing! Currently dumped just behind the cab. Will be fabing pipes to come out the front of the left rear tire at a later time. Only had two weeks of R&R and had other things to do as well...
