Moroso spiral flow. 3 inch muff and 3 inch (single) out the back. Looks like like sock but higher and tighter. much cleaner appearance.

moderate in cab drone

I had my GF drive my truck home and I drove her jeep the other day. It sounds better being away from it (i.e. driving next to it) than it does being in the truck.

Default Delta 40 race muffs

3) dynomax: too loud for me, and drones like hell when cruising on the highway

4) glasspack: loud, but also sounded nice at the same time

5) open pipe: stupid and obnoxiously loud

what will i go with from now on? longer magnaflows
Thanks mdram43, I appreciate you taking the time to post the choices and results. Has anyone run a Flowmaster Delta 40 race muffler? http://www.jegs.com/i/Flowmaster/389/9430409/10002/-1 This one flows about as much as my 4.7 will put out (cfm), but I am wondering how loud it is...

Default Bit the bullet today!

Well I've had the 08 Ram for 2 years to the day so I went to a local muffler shop here in Cape Coral Fl and asked the owner what he would do if he had my truck. Well I like what he chose and I like the sound so far. He installed a super turbo muffler with 3 in inlet and 3 outlet, its welded in place of the stock muffler. No time yet to run on the highway but I will have a 1300 mile run home in 3 weeks so I will have a great comparison. I will try to get a sound clip up tomorrow. Thanks for all the advise over the last few months.

I still love the sound and performance of the new muffler. There is a little drone at steady speeds, gas milage did improve. On the way back to Canada I was getting 425-450 miles on 3/4 tanks. About 18-19 US gallons or 23 MPG. I think this was good considering the wife had every corner of the truck filled. Even added some air to the air bags to bring up the rear a little.

Flowmaster catback DOS with 50HD muffler. quiet idle, good rumble at crusing speeds, fairly quiet highway, but pretty loud when you step on it.
I got flowmasters for the sound. Im getting an e-cutout for the noise.

I have a 4.7L and I'm running a "original flows" 40 series Flowmaster Single in dual out turned out the side in front of the rear tire. the 40 series sounds wicked on it. I'm about to cut out the cats and fix the y pipe. so im hoping it'll get just a little louder.
Is Flowmaster really as restrictive as they say?
