Headers should slightly increase your mileage if you keep your foot out of it, which is a hard thing to do after installing them, and most people I would imagine lose some mileage for the above mentioned reason. Forget about mods to increase mileage. As Hammer has stated and I will concur the E Fan is the only mod that might possibly pay for itself in mileage savings over a long period of time. Hemis are only going to give you so much fuel mileage no matter what you do to them
I emailed pacesetter and have yet to get an answer. Their headers cut off at the 07 model range. I have an 08. Is there some kind if funky, odd difference that would not allow the pacesetter lt headers to work on an 08?
Yes there's a lot of difference. Shortys develop good torque numbers and are easy to install, where long tubes also make good torque but develop more hp than shortys and work much better in the higher rpm range than shortys, but are a littler harder to install
If the 03 4.7L exhaust setup is anything like the 05 4.7's then those two "resonators" right behind the manifolds are catalytic converters and the converter you were talking about was the muffler.
The converters on the 05 4.7 are right behind the cats on the y-pipe and then the two down pipes are ran into a collector and into the muffler then on out the tailpipes.
Not tryin to be a smart *** or anything that just confused me because i thought that all the 02-05's has the same exhaust setup.

Hate to tell you this but the cats and convertors are the same thing, so your statement makes no sense
i have edelbrocks shorty headers and there not coated, i can tell you after a few years there looking pretty bad, and are reall close to the steering wheel boot, if i could do it again i would save the money and buy a coated set as well as another brand.
