I had an interesting thing happen today. I was cruising in 2nd when I decided to mash the throttle (for the hell of it); the truck immeadiately accelerated, and proceeded to spin the tires (from second gear)! I had to pedal-it to get traction, then it chirped into 3rd. These tunes have to be experienced to be appreciated.

The transmission will be fine. Superchips knows what they're doing with TM and these trucks. I'd be more worried about other tuning solutions and how their TM is applied.
The beauty of this program is, you don't have to set it to 0%. You have the control.
A stock or lightly modified Ram transmission can handle plenty. When folks decided to put down HP numbers well beyond the capabilities of the stock transmission, that's when problems occur.
Keep in mind, this is the same TCM programming they've been using for years. They are just giving us the ability to reduce TM further. It's how the application is programmed that's the key.

you saying there won't be a 'warning' even when you go to set TM at 0?
I'm personally not concerned. If any end user is concerned, they have full control and they do not have to set TM at 0%.

Let me preface this review with the following comment-
I am not writing this for the 1/4 mile guys with the big motors. They're transmission needs do not apply to me, nor mine to them. **I am writing this for the regular folks with light mods that want to see improvement in their daily driving experience.**
Alright, let's break this down in to three parts- downshifts, upshifts, and torque management.
DOWNSHIFTS
For me, the downshifts are the most important aspect of the transmission tuning. I have the 2nd gear downshift tuned so that it drops back to 1st with very little throttle, but the real magic comes in to play with 3rd and 4th gear downshift.
I have set up my 3rd gear to downshift to 2nd anytime I am in a low rpm situation and accelerating. No being forced to floor it to get it to kick down. In town driving is a pleasure now and the truck is ready to jump at the drop of a hat. This is also fantastic for towing in town where there are varying traffic speeds.
Fourth gear is actually a joy to be in now. All the gas saving benefits of an overdrive gear, but if I want to get on it, it drops back into third with very little throttle. I have tuned out the 45 mph bog by setting it up so that if I am under 50 and I give it the gas, it pops right into third. I'll talk a little more about how this ties in to the 3rd gear upshift in a minute.
Fifth gear is set up to kick into 4th a little easier than it does with the stock shift points. I wasn't as aggressive in my tuning of 5th as I was with the lower gears. I haven't gone crazy with 5th gear because it doesn't really suit my driving style. I am not a freeway maniac, and my truck really has no business hammering it down the freeway. This tuner definately has the capabilities for the guys that want it.
UPSHIFTS
Leaving a light is a whole new experience. I no longer have to put my foot in it to keep it from upshifting to quick. I have tuned 1st - 3rd to hold the gear significantly longer than stock. The beauty here is that it's not just a simple rpm/mph shift point. I have the gears tuned to shift at progressively higher mph based on my throttle position.
By increasing the shift points, the truck no longer shifts just as it's getting in to the power band at light to mid throttle. I hated that. It now stays in the power band longer, so it actually accelerates faster with a given amount of pedal.
The 45 mph bog is completely eliminated by not allowing it to shift into 4th below 48 mph. Some guys may not like this beacuse of the mpg consequences, but that's not a problem because this is simply how I tuned it based on my needs. You don't have to do this if you don't want. That's the beauty of this new program!
Torque Management
The TM control is a real gem. It's not a simple on/off option. You can control the TM progressively based on the amount of throttle you're applying. Under light acceleration there is really no need to have the truck bog down during a shift and basically take a dump on you. You can tune it all out. You can tune it all out everywhere if you choose.
First through 3rd are the money makers for torque management. They're strong gears and the torque management really slows you down on the shifts. BAM! No more TM for those gears. The shifts are quick and you don't skip a beat when accelerating.
I have left torque management in for areas that I think are a problem. I kept it stock for 5th gear. I have never (and will never) go full throttle into 5th gear. 5th is a weak gear and doesn't need to be slammed like that. How crazy fast would that be anyway? Similarly, I left some torque management in for 4th gear. I have it set up to increase the amount of torque management based on my throttle position. If I am really hammering it into 4th, I want to protect that gear. An easy, regular driving upshift into 4th is probably not an issue and so I have it dialed down some for that. Fourth is another gear that I never go into full throttle. You're already over 100 mph in 3rd at WOT anyways.
I am really happy with the way I have the tuner setup, and I think I may run it this way for a while to really get a feel for it. Based on that experience, I will make other tweaks, and try different things. I'll keep you guys up to date when I have solid information to post. Right now I am in the honeymoon phase of the relationship. Let's see if I still love her when she gets fat...
