70blackfish,

What exactly did you do during the tune/program? Did you use the 91 octane tune? Most of us have seen huge improvements after purchasing and implementing the advanced trans program. You can adjust shift points and torque management. I would explain in more detail why you are disappointed, and see if some of us can not help change your mind. If you went in thinking this would make your truck a race car, that's a different story, but again, most folks are extremely satisfied with their results.

Default Impressed so far But Question

Just received the 3865 and did only the 91 tune thus far. I bought mainly to help with towing which I have not done yet. The 91 tune made a big difference and "seems" as if it changed the trans shifting....I have had some fun with the power improvement as far as a street performance. I plan to do the heavy tow tune next and tow my boat but i also have to pull a heavy trailer in a couple of weeks and want to be ready. Do I need the trans app for $39 or do you think the standard heavy tow preset will be good enough?

I pull a 5000 pound traval trailer on 1000 mile trips and found the best tune is the preformance tune. Don't waste your time with the tow tune, you will get better mileage and performance using the top tune with 93 octane. If fact I tested that programmer in every mode (pulling and not) and found the best results are preformance mode. I don't drive with a heavy and it cost me less to get that truck down the road using the top tune and 93 than the 87 tune.

I'm getting a used Superchip 3865 tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what I should adjust once I get it and numbers as in rev limiter and shift points.. I heard it's a big improvement for my 2008 4.7L. Just want to be able to adjust everything as soon as I get it. Also is 91 or 93 the top tune?
