Superchips Questions and Updates
There seems to be a trend in this thread...
1. Word gets leaked about an upgrade
2. Word spreads like wildfire and people find all the negative stuff with it
3. People gripe about the negatives for a bit while Sil/others try to stay positive
4. Scott makes an official statement about said rumor
5. People throw a hissy about the negative stuff or stuff Scott didnt clarify
6. Repeat process
Frankly, I'm sick of the speculation. It sucks for the 3815 owners like myself, but after I had a chance to cool down a bit, I thought about it from the business end of it (having a degree in business, I tend to think about everything from a "business end"). A few good points were brought up in the previous posts:
First, yeah it sucks I/some others have an outdated version, but such is life in the electronics world. I went back and read some of the PM's I saved from when I was first researching and never did the SC guys say the when/what the new upgrades were gonna be, nor did they say that it was for the 3815. I still think we should have been told about the new platform coming out, but thats besides the point.
I think some of us have been spoiled on here having Scott, Tom, Sil giving such great information straight from the source... you dont have that on most forums. We got carried away with that luxury, and now its kinda hurtin some of us. I think the buyback program is a GREAT idea, something they definently dont have to do, and I'll just hope its not too costly. However, costly or not, I can only trust from the source that the updates will be well worth it.
I'm done speculating. I'm going to be positive and hopeful that the SC guys back up their talk. I hope the rest of you will join me.

Also one thing that bugs me is the pushing that there is "No real diffrence between the 3815 and the 3865 other than a newer sleaker design and inteface." With 0 mention of the fact that the new program wouldn't fit on the new one. You can't tell me they had no idea of how big the new programming would be long before the 3865 was released.
Now I have had the SC products, I sold and I bought a DSP which already has the formentioned feature for my truck with room for upgrade when I get stuff like a new cam. And it blew the SC out of the water.
SC's boast about it levels of quality control and customer service all the while bending them over the fence.....
I really feel horrible about all the folks that got the 3815 from back stock even after the 3865 was released.
. I just ordered a 3865 yesterday and I'm really hoping the transmission tuning will be available for my Dakota as well. I have a 2005 with the 4.7l and 545RFE transmission, same setup as is available in the Rams.
You get further with sugar and water then you do with **** and vinegar. I remember way back when Sil was telling us to "ask for what you want." Well, SC listened to quite a bit of it and is giving us more. Unfortunately, I suspect that no matter what they do some people will always complain. If you want an adjusted trans schedule on your 3815, try asking for it. My children get a lot more from me when they smile real cute and use their manners. They almost never get what they want when they throw a tantrum and and speak disrespectful to me.
When the transmisson tuning options release, they'll have plenty of new customers. Winning new and retaining customers has never been an issue at Superchips.
