Superchips Questions and Updates
So, maybe one of you guys can answer this. I know on the previous revisions of the 3815, there was a 87, 89, and 91 octane tune. From what I understand, they did away with the 89 tune and now have 87, tow and performance. I am assuming the performance is still the old 91 tune. Well mine is on its way, and wanted to know which octane of gas I should use in my truck. In North Carolina we have 87, 89, and 93 octane. So should I use 89 or 93 with the performance tune? Thanks

using 89 with either the tow or performance tune will run a high risk of pre-detonation, NFG!!! Don't want pre-detonation!!! Pre-detonation over time = FUBAR.
Run the 93 octane!
Run the 93 octane!
I might have missed this question while reading all these post but can you turn the MDS off with the SC Cortex programmer, and is there any real difference between the 3815 and the Cortex besides the tranny warranty?
Where were you trying to order it from? I just went on superchips.com and it only lists the 3815 for the gas ram. I tried searching their site for the number you said and it doesn't exist. Maybe the site you were on has a typo.
Ditto...I'm sold on superchips, just not sure between the 3815 and Cortex. Any info would be great!
Thanks for the info. I will be ordering from here.
