I put one on my truck today. I used 12ga wire. I'm not sure I feel a difference, it seems to want to stay in gear a little longer (shift at a higher rpm).

You think 12ga was big enough? I can't see it making that big of a difference.

So I took out the truck over the weekend to give it a good run, no difference in shifting, tb response, or smoothness.

I started with 13 AWG wire and noticed a little difference so i replaced the 13 AWG with a 4 AWG HKS grounding wire and i felt the truck is somehow better (also it made a difference on my friend's Rumble Bee) , but in my case i have a custom PCM & TCM with a lot of tweaks including the throttle boost , what i mean is if ur truck is bone stock u can feel the difference more obvious than on a customized truck

truckin151 ur truck got a lot of lovely mods on it , the Intake and the 2800 stall alone definitely will not let u feel this slight difference , i think u need a mod that gives u 100+ HP to feel the difference , Lovely truck Enjoy it

One day when I have time I'm going to probe the TB wiring plug to see if any of it has continuity to ground. If it doesn't (and that's my bet), grounding the TB cannot possibly have any effect on its operation. I won't know till I can test though.

I was very skeptical about this as you are, and I'd say skeptical is probably not the right word either. I was about 95% sure this would make no difference in TB operation. But unlike you in your first post in this thread, I reserved my response until I was able to disprove it, just so I wouldn't be putting my proverbial foot in my mouth. Got me my wire and my meter out and went to testing.

As I said, the steady idle needle that I've NEVER seen before PROVES that grounding the TB makes a difference. Even though I can't prove better throttle response I CAN PROVE a smoother idle just by comparison of the tach needle. This is no subtle difference either, as soon as I pull the wire end off chassis ground I can watch my tach waver more than 200 RPM and the needle doesn't budge as soon as I touch the cable end to ground. At least on my truck.

Sometimes it just pays to not pass judgement until you have the opportunity to try and disprove something. In this case I found that I wasn't quite as knowledgeable as I thought I was...

So what did you all ground besides the TB? And was it worth it? Also where did you bolt it to on the part and where on the truck?

On page 7 on this thread post #65 u can see the attached pics which shows where we bolted the wires on both trucks , we did additional grounding to the engine besides the thin original grounding wire we used very thick grounding wires from Audi cars, one end on the battery (-) and the other end on any bolt on the engine, at the beginning we didn't notice anything until after resting the PCM we noticed a slight difference in shifting points( idk on the 06 i think the stereo becomes louder and clearer maybe ) and we still testing the trucks , dodge mechanics here said that by this grounding method we did to the engine block we also gave additional grounding to tranny coz its all connected together and that if we want more results we should ground the tranny from underneath the truck which we didn't do till now . No harm in adding additional grounding to the engine

I am surprised the TB isn't grounded by default. Large volumes of air flowing through the stock intake is sure to great a huge amount of static electricity.
