Pyro not only can hit next to nuthin' but half the clays he tries to throw with a hand thrower land at his feet! And for those who've never used a hand thrower, it's about as hard to use as tossing a frisbee.

He's gonna kill me, cause I just posted it up in the outdoors section, but since SHE brought it up, here's what I have to deal with:

Now I'm not a pro, but I usually bust 23 or 24 out of 25, but for those who've never shot, it should look a little more like this:

Over/Under, a turkish made Huglu I picked up with under a box of shells fired through it from a buddy who bought it and couldn't hit anything with it.
Basically it's a CZ Mallard or Mossberg Silver Reserve, since Huglu makes it for both those companies and exports it here.
The second pic is actually of me, with the same gun, the day I tried it out. I hit 25 out of 25 clays with it, including five sets of doubles, so I said "SOLD"...

All of our shotguns we use for dove hunting are the Mossberg Silver Reserve's. Both mine and my dads are pump actions from the late 60's early 70's when my dad bought them new and then one my grandpa handed down to me is an over/under he bought new when he was in his 20's and he's 87 now. It still shoots great and is in excellent condition.

We also have one that I wont shoot anymore, its a Remmington 10ga. Double barrel. I forgot what the name of the trigger it has on it but the single trigger shoots both barrels, pull half way and it fires the right, pull the rest and it fires the left with a very touchy trigger to boot. I made the mistake when I was shooting it and forgot about the trigger and just pulled it like my other gun and fired both barrels at once. The recoil (no recoil pad, bare wood) hit my shoulder so hard that I couldn't shoot the rest of the week cause it bruised so badly. One of my dads friends shot it after me and did the same thing and got knocked to the ground.

I dunno if you would call Colorado the Midwest but I didn't learn to shoot til I was 17, and then my rise to fame came crashing down... literally, off top row of choir risers and onto a stake of chairs (got knocked off during practice). I tore my right rotator cuff pretty much clean apart and split the ball in half, I had to have recoctructive surgery of my shoulder, when I tried to shoot again less than 9 months after surgery, I popped my shoulder - not fun so since I have stayed away and I cannot shoot left handed but I hope to get back into it now that its been like 6 years since surgery... hopefully...

Wow, that sucks. I grew up on BB and pellet guns shooting popcans. Moved up since then.

You will have to use something without any kick to it at first. Pistols are easy enough. That's what I keep close by incase of crazy racoons or possums that may try to get into the chicken pen.

I haven't shot off my horses. Could be fun...we had one mare that we loaned to a friend of ours that took her up in the mountains (might have been CO, I don't remember) and used her as a pack horse and to ride. It was a hunting trip for them.

I don't really hunt. I may get into it more though.

I got the perfect shotgun for ya' Cow Chick, it's a 12 ga. Semi-auto, but it kicks less than any 20 ga. I ever shot. Hell I shoot it one handed just to show how little it kicks, plus we can always pick you up a recoil pad.

And how the hell did we get to Shotguns on a "Post Pics of Yourself Thread"? I think this discussion needs to resume in the Outdoors section...
