I was thinking of doing the same thing but a Pre-runner style skidplate. Do you remember about how much the materials ran you?
Couldn't tell you, i had 4 4x8 sheets of diamond plate sitting around that we had got for free.
i think it cost me having to fill my torch bottle and some steel to make a bracket out of.
I had it ran from behind front bumper, bent to head down to the front crossmember which was lowest point, then bent to run straight back to the Tranny crossmember.
yeah i have a 2005 ram 4x4 and was very irritated to find out (i bought it used) that not only did it not have skid plates but it also did not have slip differentials on either axle...but i have the 4xx4 package, this lead to a sticky and costly situation where i had to have an 18 wheeler wrecker pull me out of the mmud because i was so thoroughly stuck lol
If anyone builds skid plates post up the drawings, I'm tempted to do the same. Kinda on the fence whether to sell my truck or not, so I might wait on building new stuff right now
