If it were me I'd let him have it with both barrels. The cop should have arrested him for leaving the scene of a accident and reckless endangerment. You should milk every cent out of this *******, who cares if he was nice.... it was only because he got caught and didn't want to go to jail.

example i was doing 100km/h (on a Hwy) on cruse control , and a guy was pulling on to the road, he was clearly cutting me off and not attempting go get out of my way. While braking I had to pass him on the right (shoulder) to avoid a head on collision in the other lane or rear ending him, now say he over corrects and ends up in the ditch i would i get a ticket right? ifyou thinking i would (get a ticket) and thats just ignorant and lazy police work


i was driving around with a hand tree saw, a large bow like saw, pole pruner chainsaw, 5 knives various sizes, tire checker, hot coffee, and half a crown royal (from the weekend i don't drink and drive!!!) , everything was in my cab except the chainsaw
i guess i get 25 to life in the us for that eh

Bottom line, the driver of the Miata should be in jail... period. If it were ME, I would have hit the brakes and let him go by instead of possibly causing injury to me, my truck, the driver in the Miata or all three, but I do see where you were coming from.

I think that if you were trying to teach him a lesson by not slowing down and letting him run into your truck, you should follow through and make him pay for his stupidity.

If someone hit my vehicle, in any situation whatsoever AND fled the scene (or attempted) there would be some serious consequences. Good luck with your repairs. I am a "nice guy" but a line was clearly crossed in this case.

I am glad that you posted this. From one Police Officer that has served both in the Military as an MP and on several different civilian and federal police departments, I was about to blast cheech for being the type of Police Officer that REAL Police hate.

We call them "Super troopers" on my department. The idiots that only see dollar signs and citiation books in every situation instead of acctually trying to slove issues to the betterment of the public interest. These are the same idiots that get awards for writing Grandma a Jay walking ticket while some one is being raped and killed half a block down the street. But becuase they were too interested in writing that all important citation to Grandma, they were too late to stop the real crime...
