the shackles are not bad at all...if you have any mechanic ability, a jack, a socket wrench and an open end wrench and that's all you need...it literally took me less than 30 minutes to install from beginning to end......here's a great tip for you too...make sure you go buy some grease and use a lot on them, if not they will squeak like mine do because I ran out of grease and was too lazy to go buy more....also another tip DO NOT TIGHTEN them until the truck is sitting firm on the ground again with no jack underneath....feel free to PM me if you need help when you install!!

Wow, that helped a lot!

@RaiderJay - was it not quite level with the overload spring left in? what brand shackle did you go with? is the rear end much 'softer' with the spring out?

@SweetSRT - thanks for all the input and tips!

@GotHemi44 - love to see the pics when you are done.

Thanks guys!

no bro! it's a truck load it til it can take no more! all the overload spring does is "catch" your leaf spring pack when it is at max capacity! it's more like an "incase" type of spring!

My buddies got drop shackles for his ford f150 from ford racing and they came with shims to re-adjust the angle of the axle. Would it stress the rear end or the joints since these kits have no shims?

Removing the overload spring drops it approx 3/4" more. It doesnt affect the ride quality at all.
