Angel Eyes Headlights w/ HID's Finally Installed **Pics**
Holy crap dude, that is freaking sweet. The light output on those are crazy. It mostly just projects the light forward, so I wouldn't think people on the opposite side of the highway would have an issue, but on a two lane road, I could see people complaining about the brightness. Have you had people flashing you at night yet?
On another note... As much as I would like to put a set of these in my truck, is it a job you'd recommend just taking to a shop to do? I'm usually a pretty good DIYer, but I don't usually screw with the electical any further than changing out stereo receivers and etc.

As for me I took it to a shop for them to install the halos because i would have no idea how to do it myself because i'm not too good with that stuff but if you think you can then by all means - save your money and give it a shot. I didn't want to install the hid's myself either so i just gave my cousin a call and we both installed it (he knew exactly what he was doing, I somewhat did once we figured out where everything went). I didn't want to take the chances of making mistakes or anything either (Especially with wiring). But yeah, if you have the capabilities of doing this yourself then i suggest you go for it.
- Also have to take into consideration that even though you can't see in the pic, where I am parked in my driveway there is a SLIGHT incline in the pavement by the front two tires, making the light higher in the air just a bit. When I am driving at night, the light goes directly down onto the road and i notice it rarely hits the other drivers windshield unless i'm going uphill or they are driving something very low to the ground...eyelids do a good job with the cut off.
- That picture of the lights i just posted makes it look like my headlights in the first one weren't even on haha
I will drive down the road and get a shot of the lights because there are no lights and its flat ground over there..should be a very good pic

Cool, I'll be following the thread to see the pics... I don't get off work until 5:45 am anyhow... *brain fizzles*
How much did you spend to have the halo's installed? Unfortunately for us military types, we're rarely in one place long enough to make friends at shops or buddies who can help us do these kind of projects, instead of always wasting cash paying others to do the work. It makes one feel better when he did the work himself, eh?

2ndGen, if you can wait a week or two, I'm making my own angel eyes as well as painting the assembly black probably this coming weekend if i get a chance. I'll be using other DIY writeups found on the net. The eyes have cost be about $40 in material. shouldnt be too bad if you're good with the DIY stuff
Will definitely be waiting more than a week or two, lol. First order of business is paying off some bills at the moment. I'll be golden next month, but the first thing I'm putting $ into is tires. After that, a CAI, exhaust system (need to boost that not-so-astounding MPG), and probably a chip... and THEN, i'll be modding the exterior. It's a shame that I'll be doing all this work on my truck knowing that my father wants to trade me his '06 Cummins 2500. But I think i need to spoil my truck a little bit. Afterall, it did save my wife's life.
If you're going to be installing it, a step-by-step slideshow would be most appreciated. I tend to go crazy and fix things that don't really need fixing when I'm greased up to my ears...

HAH! Crazy? Not on your life would I turn down that offer! He's going to pay it off in a year or so and he's going to just trade me for mine. He says he doesn't need all that power anymore, and would get more use out of mine, so we're going to swap. It has around 28k miles on it right now, on a deisle, it's not even broken in yet. He bought the '06 for around $48,000 with the TRX4 package and whatever other options he has in it. The whole reason why I fell in love with dodge was that truck! I've personally ripped 700lb tree stumps out of the ground with it.
