Lol I'm sure he was just playin around. There are some 10's in ported boxes out there that pound like you wouldn't believe. All depends on airspace, tuning of the port (if you want it loud to ear tune it low, if you want it loud on a spl mic tune it high), power and of course a good quality sub.

It sucks that were pretty much forced to go with "shallow" subs because of our lack of space because it makes good bass hard to come by. I went with two 10" diamond audio shallow subs. There pretty expensive but when your dealing with subs you really get what you pay for, especially in the "shallow" market. Try to stay away from a wooden box, they are clunky and never seem to fit as well as the composite ones. Im running an 1800 watt kenwood amp and a pioneer premiere head unit. (dont skimp on the head unit, it can make all the difference in the final product and sound quality.)
Go to a local car audio place and see what they got. Get it done right and get it tuned right is my best advice.

You just need 16" spacers for the seats.
Honestly, I think your 2 Kickers will be fine. There's no correct answer to your question. You'll get 100 opinions -- just like "whats the best oil", "whats the best tires", etc. etc.
