man you guys with the 4.7L engines getting in the 14's at best, thats not right.....

For me:

2005 Quad Cab w/20" wheels and a 4.7L engine

100% Highway (no wind) = 19-20 mpg, sometimes even 21 (but thats with the wind at my back)

50/50 Highway/City = 17 mpg

100% City = 13-14 mpg

I am pretty light on the pedal though.....guys if you wanna save on gas, then its the take-off's that you gotta be easy with, take off slow and you'll save a ton of $$

oh and putting your tailgate down doesnt do squat! Saw that on mythbusters, tested it for myself and sure enough, its true.

Will all-due-respect man, I think you are the one with something wrong. Look at all these guys in here getting bad mileage. It's not just one or two, it's all of us.

I drive fairly conservatively. People pass me all the time. And still, I have NEVER averaged over 14 mpg on a tank. I do 50% city, 50% highway driving at reasonable speeds with light to moderate throttle most of the time and it is impossible for my truck to break 14 miles per gallon average. Considering that it should be 15.5 miles per gallon according to the window sticker, this pisses me off.

Anyone who claims 20 miles per gallon with a Dodge truck is going to have to show me proof or I'll never believe it. [:'(]

2005 2500 QC 4x4 CTD. Only have a little over 500 miles on it. Got 14.5 mpg on first full tank (manually calculated). I thought diesel was suppose to be better than the hemi on fuel economy. Is my foot really that heavy??? I know it'll get better the more miles I put on it.

give it some miles, it will get better. I was getting in the 13's when I pulled off the lot. now I'm in the 16-18 range depending on rice activity

I have a 2005 RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi, shortbed two door. I travel 80 miles a day in traffic, in the Washington DC area, amzingly enough I get 15.2 MPG. And it also has 4 wheel drive...I have checked and checked again, and I get a little over 15 mpg at an average speed of 30 mph in trafffic. Thats using 89 octane...I only have 5200 miles on it. I look forward to taking a trip and cruising at 65 mph. I love the truck it is simply the best dodge truck I have had.

Default RE: Miles per gallon- What are you getting?

15.5 MPG average highway/city 16k miles
2004 1500 4.7 3.73 gears quad cab 4x4
The trend is lower gas mileage as it gets older.
5k miles~18 MPG
10K miles ~17 MPG
Anyone else having similar gas mileage or is this normal?
And yes I'm following the regular maintenance schedule.
