I have a friend of mine who has an 03 1500 ram, six ft box,Hemi powered. two door. I think it's 4x4. He claims that on a trip that he gets 21 to 22 mpg.I told him That I don't believe him he also has the 3.55 rear and 17 in tires. The most I ever got is 17.1 and that's before that ethenol junk was put in the gas. So what do you guy's think ,Is he full of himself.? His is a single cab mine is an 04 quad cab. I have duals ,he doesn't

Ask him if he is just reading his overhead numbers. Most of them do. Those nums are nor accurate. Yeah in a one way, 55mph, 10 mile hwy trip I'm sure it will say 22mpg. I hate when people just read the overhead.

Thanks for the synthetic update, I'm going to change to syn. whatever the gas milage will be, so be it. I'm so use to 10 mpg that I'd throw a party for 11 !! Heck, I'm going to party anyhow, and hope for 11 !!

ORIGINAL: 2007 SLT Hemi Power

I am using Mobil 1 synethic 5W20 and the MPG is the same as regular oil, but hey I am very happy with this truck, rides like a dream, FAST, and gets good MPG too

I am convince that the MDS on the 06 HEMI's doesn't work over 100kph (60mph).

When I drop my speed to 100k or slightly less, then reset the computer it will climb as high as 24.5mpg!! I got 850k's to a tank a couple of times.

As soon as I go 110k or faster, it drops to about 18mpg. In the city I drive it like a sports car so I always get 13-16 mpg.

Overall I am impressed.

I just installed a Magnaflow cat back system and dropped in a K&N filter. It runs and sounds great. Haven't check milage yet. Having to much fun with the pipe!!! I don't think I'll ever get what I did stock! LOL

I've got a 2004 RAM 2500 HEMI/4.10 and average 11.7 MPG, but about 40% of my 29000 miles is towing a 6000 lb trailer. Non-towing average is about 12.3. Too much suburb driving/not enough highway. Best single tank I've gotten is 16.4, I keep all my data in an Excel spreadsheet - the OH 'Puter averages about 0.6 mpg higher than actual and is worse as the mpg's go up.
