Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
well i was getting 12.7 with my 06 hemi stock. i was looking for more mpg like everyone else, so i went with a AEM cold air intake(came with a throttle body spacer free), and flowmaster 40 series exhaust. Average milage is now 15.2, if your wondering how i drive, im a 17 year old kid who romps the hell out of his truck on a daily basis, this isnt some pussyfoot gas mileage
2005 dodge ram 4x4 short bed single cab.... i dont know why all your guys trucks are ****ty on gas..... at 65 mpg i get in between 20 and 24 mpg...city is around 18...im telling you guys that intake i have is expensive but nice
So this week I've gotten my exhaust done, installed my intake, and installed the Edge programmer. I used to get about 14.2 average with 60% city and 40% hwy. I'm now getting about 17.5 on the same commute. I'm still running 87 gas and have been in economy mode on the programmer. It's really nice to be able to see when your in V4 vs. V8 mode. Also, the economy mode decreases how often my truck downshifts so I would attribute the mpg gains mostly to the programmer.
I am really dissapointed with mine. I was hoping to get 17-19 on the highway and I am barely getting 15.
Truck is an 05 1500 QC 5.7 with just over 30k on the clock. I drive a lot of highway miles and was expecting the truck to be a little closer to what the sticker said. Oh well, I still love the truck, plenty of power and a fairly nice ride for a full size. Maybe I will see a difference with the tonneau cover I will be installing this afternoon.
