5" 06-07 Dodge Ram 1500/2500/3500 Mega Cab Series II Lift Kit - GAS
alright well i do appologize bc i didnt read any of the posts other than the main question....but i do know quite a bit about the suspension system and whats available for the HD 4x4s. you will want either A) longer control arms - because they push the axle forward, centering up the axle, where it was meant to be. this is key in clearing tires and having those muds not eat the **** out of your fenders.... this is all needed because when you lift the truck and keep factory arms, the angle increase thus making the overall distance from the mount to the axle shorter. kind of hard to explain this if you cant visualize it. B) use adjustable control arms, they do exactly the same as the enxtended control arms, but you now have the adjustabilty to push the axle forward or back to reduce rubbing with larger tires. that and if you either go higher or lower, you want need new control arms since you have adjustables.
Rough country doesnt make a bad kit, but there one of the cheaper kits and not as well made IMO. with your 5" lift you will be able to fit 37's but that is all key in what rims with a specific offset. a lower back space will push your tires out more and and higher backspace will suck them under the fenders. if you have too low of an backspace you will rub your fenders, too high and you will rub the control arms. if i were looking for a kit between 4.5-6" i would either look at fabtech, yes fabtech even though im not a huge fan of them, or your better bet would be to use BDS 6". they offer a very nice kit that is complete. also be sure to look into the kits....a lot of them dont include shocks, or if they do theyre close to be as good as garbage. spending money of a quality kit with **** shocks is just stupid. bilstein 7100s up front and 5100's in the rear do very nicely. that and if you wanted to go with a bigger kit, anything over 6" on a dodge requires some driveline work, meaning your going to want a transfercase drop bracket or index ring.

i just read what would be the difference of a diesel lift would be in 1 of your post...the difference is key and needs to be stated when ordering a kit. a diesel engine is A LOT!! heavier, there fore needs stiffer springs/ more HD to support that weight!
also if your looking for custom control arms, top gun customz builds custom control arms to whatever length you need! they buil nice arms in a timely fashion!! dont forget your track bar and drop pitman arm!! and if your gonna be going with bigger tires, which i assume you will be doing with a kit of that size, your going to want a better steering brace and steering stabilizers.....possibly duals...

ramhunter i dont think the stock wheels look bad at all. i was thinking with my lift it would have made my tires look way small but there not to bad. im probably going to run a 315/70 on my stock 17. As for rough country kits they look well built and with the x series have adjustable control arms is a plus. a better shock is what it needs.
check it out ram, this is the same kit he's running right now.

wow....very cheap. but then again theres almost nothing to that kit! all i see are coils, a drop pitman arm and some blocks and u bolts for the rear, with some very basic shox, which i already gave my opinion on....
