Right EVIC at last

OMG -- there goes another pile of cash as I start searching for one for my truck. I was blissfully unaware that this was out there.
Is the one you have the only one that works with our trucks? The pics on the site you linked to show what looks like the same unit from other cars & SUVs that would increase the potential donor field.

Yeah, you pretty much have to stick with the that one if you want everything to work right. Every other one I tried (and I tried a bunch as I was installing one into my wife's Jeep where one wasn't originally) the temp readout usually didn't work. I tried one with TPMS, it dinged constantly even though the truck was never setup for it (usually there's a dash light to go with it). For me it was worth it.

Hello HemiLonestar,
I have read your posts on swapping an EVIC into 3rd gens. I finally did this following your direction with good results, thank you for your research!
My truck is a 2003 SRW LB 3500 4x4 diesel will every option but has a rear sliding window. The only problem I have run into is dramatically inaccurate instant and est mpg. (3x to high)
I am on my 1st tank and reset everything on fill up and held the button to reset the DTE, which has seemed to be pretty close. The trip is exact on with my dash, compass is good, temp is good, door ajars are perfect, home link works.
I realize this has been an old thread for you, so sorry for redigging it up, but your posts and research has been very comprehensive and very helpful. If you or anyone else has any suggestions to get my MPG reading closer I would thank you.
