And cherry is right, that 5.9 has been more favorably modded for HP in the 2nd gen section that the 3rd.

Yeah I noticed that as soon as it got moved to the second gen section it received more attention xD.

Oh well, I just want to get some power and reliability out of the truck. I know Chrysler isn't exactly for their famous transmissions.

I talked to the owner today and he said he will sell the superchips with the vehicle. So I think I will sell the superchips and contact HemiFever about an SCT. How hard are the rockers to drop in?
well, I don't know if there are any RRs for the hemi engines. Probably, but at a cost. Can't go wrong intake and exhaust. But you won't see the gains that you see with diesel (for the money).

It isn't a hemi, it's a 5.9 Magnum. Harland Rockers 1.7:1 seem to go for 319. What are the gains on those?

I have a 1996 Ram 1500 with a 5.9 magnum V8 and i was wondering some things I could do to get more power. I plan to get a k&n CAI, headers w/exhaust, and a jet chip but i was curious of what else i coud do to get more power. Also I want to run true dual exhaust with no cats any suggestions on this, what mufflers, what size pipes, and is no cat a good thing or not?

yaaaay another 3rd Gen 5.9er . Dito on all of you guys who have replied! currently i have E-Fan, Power wire, Superchips, open cherry bomb glasspack, CAI, Keg mod, and FI Air gap intake Mani. Currently im saving up for an SCT wich will be programed by Hemifever to remove TM and Hughes Engines for their famous Intake Manifold.
Here are the Dyno Sheets from Hughes Engine's Intake manifold and a link to my post of the intake mani on my truck.
