It won't hurt him to just think about it.

My wrecked-the-truck-but-insurance-covered-it fantasy always gets stalled between a 2500 cummins and a power wagon. That's a tough call right there.

Sensors are placed off center in front of driver and passenger. You hit dead center. Worth a shot, but I doubt an ambulance chaser can help you.

SO glad to hear you're ok partner! That was a helluva impact to bend that steering wheel like that.... I can't believe that damn bag didnt come out! Im on the bandwagon here and say you outta AT LEAST talk to a lawyer and see what he/she says about this. And pay real close attention to yourself, healthwise. It takes days, even months, for signs of trauma to come to the surface.

I hit a tree at ~60ish in my mustang. Dead-on head-on. No seatbelt, the bag definately saved my ***. I recently found out that my truck stops "dinging" after while when you don't have the belt on (riding around on the ol mans farmland today), I'll just disregard that information!

First of all, I'm glad that other than a nasty gash on the chin you are fine. Be VERY glad you were in a huge, heavy truck. That's a whole lotta impact and the cab looks to be very intact except for where you hit the steering wheel!

I'd go ahead and contact a lawyer, but don't be surprised if you get told that they have no liability because you modified the truck. Also, with just the cut to the chin, I don't see what you could have much in damages to sue for. The damage to the truck would have been the same with or without air bag deployment.

I'm not saying to NOT contact a lawyer, I'm just saying not to be surprised when nothing comes of it.

Hopefully your insurance will do you right and you'll come out of it with the truck you want.
