That's really a shame, you had a really nice truck, too.
One thing I have ALWAYS carried in my toolbox is a fire extinguisher! Not saying it would have saved the truck, but in many cases you can smell or see smoke when it just starts to smolder and if you can get at it quick enough, before it gets too big or TOO DANGEROUS to deal with, might be you can save it.
The one I currently have in my toolbox set me back all of $25 at my local hardware store:
