Behind the Grill Lights

Fella's let me ask this...
Why couldn't I wire to the Headlights or fog lights (depending on when I want them on).
A simple fuse in the line or larger fuse in the box should allow for the 55w bulbs, don't you think?
I've wired fog lights to parking light before with no problems. (96 neon)

You could but you need to wire them to a switch. I don't think you want the hellas to come on everytime you turn on your headlights or fogs on.

I have my 130 Watt Dick Cepek lights wired to the fog light switch. I almost never use the fogs except when I'm off road in the low country and am watching for stumps and cypress knees at night. So I would use them both at the same time anyway.
Used a 40A relay and just wired the post that would go to a switch to the post for the switch on the stock fog relay. Thisaway, the fog light switch kicks both on, but the power for the 130 watt lights come from their own relay (you'd blow the fog light one pulling that many amps).
You CAN however wire the Hellas up to the fog relay completely if you want to, PROVIDED you leave them at there stock 55 watts. Going to a 100 watt bulb would put the amperage beyond what the fog relay can do...

I got my hellas on ebay for cheap, then used an aluminum bar about 1/4" thick to mount behind the grille. Had help from my dad to run the wires into the cab, finished it off with a light-up rocker switch that came with the kit. Installed wire loom to clean up the engine bay. Wired them up to only work when High Beams are off; still having difficulty aiming them--one hits cars dead center in the windshield, other is angled into the ditch (where I wanted it). Good investment, especially with deer running around at night/dusk. Im thinking about moving to in front of the grille though, to get a better alignment of light beams.

I re-wired four Hella 500s I put on a buddies Cheby Z71 and bought the 100 watt bulbs at Autozone for $8 and change a two pack.
If going to the 100 watt bulbs you really need to consider re-wiring the lights, and I mean all the way to the inside connections. The stock gauge wiring is only made for the amp draw of the 55 watt bulbs.
Dirtydog did a good DIY on this...
