I want to put some new headlights in my truck OEM nothing else and no blue lights. I was wondering who makes the brightest factory replacement bulb?
Thanks.
They are a little hard to find but Philips Xtreme Power http://www.xp-lamp.com/ are the best ones. The are not coated blue (blue coatings actualy reduces the light output) and look great.
I like my Silverstars in the headlamps. I use the Silverstar Ultra's in the fogs. They don't make the Ultra's for the headlamps even though I asked them too
Any brand will work. Get a kit off ebay and a set (or two) of 50 watt load resistors from ebay and call it a day....
Curious - what is the ohm value on these? Are they 4 ohm resistors that present a 50 watt (48 actually) load at 12 volts, or are they some other resistance but rated to dissipate up to 50 watts?
I'm an old-fashioned electronics guy, so I look at these kinds of things a little differently than most.
EDIT - I just took a peek on ebay. Looks like they're 6 ohm 50 watt resistors. Answered my own question.
I also am looking for good quality headlights that are extremely bright. I have an 01 Ram sport with aftermarket headlights (smoked lens, not black reflectors with halos). They flat out suck. Very hard to see with. And the high beams are even more horrible. I checked out the web site carid.com and no Hid's. They have CCFL's,but none of them fit the sport model. Anyone have any thoughts on web sites to check out. Or where I can just find something other than going back to OEM. Thanks
