Bull Bar or Brush Guard
mine doesn't hold a winch it made out of light wieght metal. It's one of those thing you get what you pay for. My guad looks good, but can't do some the things hammers warn guard can do. I plan on on having a custom mount made behind the bumber with a synthetic line coming out the black center piece in a couple of months.
Here are a couple of pics I took after I put on mine, when i first put it on I didn't angle it all the way up so there is a bit of a gap, but I fixed so if you get one make sure you put the top as close to the bumper without touching as possible, if it leans forward it looks weird and it rubs on everything.

And my vote is for the bull bar at any HEIGHT. unless you are all chrome, then you need to go brush gaurd.

you are correct when i got mine the directions said it was made for 2500/3500 so instead of letting such a good deal not work out i just flipped the brackets and had a neighbor weld them to the front bumper brackets.
I just installed mine about a week ago, i had to cut and weld the brackets because i dont have that extra rubber/plastic thing thats attached to the bottom of the front bumper, so i had to pick it up so there wouldnt be alot of extra room between the two.
