Hi Guys,
Wanted to say a big hello from Varna, Bulgaria (eastern Europe for those who ain't sure) and share my good news!

Today I paid a deposit on a lovely Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab. She's a 2004, 4.7 Magnum (yes I would have liked the Hemi but very hard to find here) with 4x4 and an Auto box.

She currently sits on 17" 265/70/17 General A/T tyres but seems to have plenty of clearance to fit say 285 / 75 / 17's. I want the tallest profile tyre I can squeeze on her as the roads here are awful, and parking on medium to high kerbs is a regular everyday thing.

Of course I am going to upgrade the cold air intake setup, although comments on exactly which of the 100's of options to go for would be great, as would advice on chip tuning the 4.7.

Look forward to your comments

Martin

definitely get a superchips tuner best one for our 4.7l and you can make your own cold air intake out of 4" pvc or order one from many sites like this one...http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...isting+Page:13 .... i got one like this and love it...

Leave a little room for some articulation on them tires if the roads are really bad over there. If you put the absolute biggest tire that will cram in the wheel well, you'll scrub running off the curb...

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the replies and the welcome. As soon as I pick her up (hoping today, but waiting for the LPG tank to be relocated, yes, she rund petrol (gas to you guys) AND LPG) will give here a polish and post some pictures.

I don't want to start taking the engine apart, so I am guessing beyond the super chips tuner and a decent cold air intake setup there is not much tuning to be done?

She has been looked after by the current owner who imported her direct from the US 3 years ago. I plan to continue with the high level of maintenance, but if there is something specific I should know about maintaining this beast please do tell as it is not an every day machine here in Bulgaria, nor back home in UK, so I am not familiar with her quirks.

Anyone got any feedback on www.autoanything.com?

I am considering ordering a load of extras from them for both the Dodge and our Jeep commander.

I especially like the look of - http://www.autoanything.com/hitch-be...0A1868649.aspx

Tires - 285/70/17, thats really the tallest I can go? She looks like she has space for much taller profiles, there is a good 20cm between the tire and the wheel arch (is that fender in the US?) what if I stick with 265's, and put an 80 profile on here?

Again thanks for the welcome

Martin

So picked her up today - OMG shes a big beast! Especially on these small European streets. Defo be fitting parking sensors and a reversing camera soon.

Another minor issue is the US Speedo, it does have KMH but very tiny, am now using google to try and track down a KMH gauge face.

The general Grabber A/T tyres give a lot of road noise and someone has done a poor DIY repair on the front side light / indicator bulb housing.

Aside from those minor details she's lovely.

Will do a few bits and pieces to here over the coming weeks and also get her polished and post some pictures.
