Heads-up for Rough Country Wheel Spacers
I ordered some 1.5" wheel spacers from Rough Country that arrived pretty quickly. When I ordered them I specified in the "What vehicle is this for" box that it was for my 05 1500 Ram, blah blah.
Turns out Rough Country only has 1/2" diameter wheel studs for our bolt pattern. We (at least my truck) use 9/16 wheel studs. Also, my factory chrome capped lug nuts don't fit inside the opening for the spacer. A different open end lug nut doesn't fit with enough clearance to get a socket around it. And tuner lug nuts would probably fit, but they would probably cost over $100 for 20 of them.
Rough Country sells them for a great price (under $140 for 4 shipped to me). But with the extra $100 I would have to spend on lugs to make them work, it would be more desireable for me to just purchase some Soft 8 17" wheels for $80 a piece. Only problem with them is that they are 8" wide from what I've seen and I don't think I should squeeze a 315 tire on a 8" wide rim. I think my factory 17" is 8.5" wide... Anyone?
Just my FYI on how to be a broke pimp and still lift your truck.

Other Chrysler vehicles and Dodges use 5x5.5" pattern with 1/2" studs(i.e.Jeep) so it's possible they mixed up an order or someone pulled the wrong product? Is there a sticker on the box that says otherwise?
Factory 17 is 8.5 and 315 is too wide for an 8" rim.
There are plenty of 9/16" studded wheel spacers in the 5x5.5" pattern if you really wanted to go that route? 1/2" is 8/16" so 9/16" would be larger. You def don't want to go smaller, besides, new lugs would be very difficult.

yeah, thats what I was about to say. I almost ordered a set when I was looking for wheels earlier this year.

will be ordering my set of soft 8's by the middle of next week.... if im understanding right about the lug nut issue, the lug nut that come with the spacers go on the original studs and ur chrome lug nuts go on the spacers studs, and also if u order another set ur probably going to have to shave the original studs off some thats what i had to do, so when i get my soft 8's i am going to have to get 20 original studs for my truck but they are only 1.69/ one...
