Building a 5.7 liter SINGLE TURBO
I'm sure your 1400+hp turbocharged vehicles do not use dry type manifolds made of plastic with electronic throttle-bodies that become ruined in contact with gasoline. Any option is better that auxiliary injectors, and there are many. There is no replacement for properly sized injectors.
in case you forgot i am the forgotten year !!!! U cant exactly tune my truck as it is an 03 model ! Or is there any way to tune my truck? Idk if everyone is getting my point....i build turbo cars as well but i have never done a dodge hemi !!! So the turbo kit is the easy part for me, but i need to figure out how to RELIABLY TUNE my truck to drive every day WITHOUT BLOWING it. I have a near by dyno but idk what i can tune my truck on what map sensor to use or injectors or anything ? SO LETS HELP ME WITH THAT PART PLZZZZZZ
Injectors that I've both used are the Ford blue 39# injectors (around 45# at our pressure) and now the stage 1 SRT-4 injectors. Both are readily available new and used at either the dealerships or in the classified ads in their respective forums. You will need to change your fuel pump to that of an '04 Ram or just pull off the regulator from a used fuel basket. A newer model year fuel pump will allow you to run around 8-9 psi on a stock head 5.7. This is also the limit of the stock pistons that will break first, then the rods shortly after. (~500hp)
If you decide to use Diablo for a custom tune then a SRT-4 2.25 Bar MAP sensor can be purchased at the dealer for cheap. Other tuning options I've tried was a Perfect Power SMT-6 piggyback controller and an iEMS3 controller. Both are user tuned and will run larger injectors perfectly well. Both of these control fuel, ignition, and methanol injection. The later is also controlling my boost and nitrous.
Your transmission will be happy at the stock 5.7 engine limits with a turbo being the primary power adder. But, once you upgrade to a forged rotating assembly or larger heads/cam then a transmission and torque converter upgrade will be necessary.

well i have the stall converter 3krpm :-) and a fully built rear end

ok so i found the web sites and started reading but dont cleary understand them, can you explain roughly what these will do for me or which one i should lean towards....i do have a laptop and i am farmilar with a/f ratios and stuff but this is new to me its my first dodge truck
Turbos are fun
I recently built my own remote turbo kit for my Dakota, I'm using a Holset H1C turbo, had it up to 7PSI but backed it off to 4PSI until I get Megasquirt and 42lb injectors, the digital FMU I'm using isn't cutting it for fuel tuning.
IMO you will want to go back to higher gears (3.92s), turbos like load.
Are you sure you didn't end up with a Chinese knockoff turbo?
